Should You Combine Serums Together Or Alternate Them?
Serums are a super important part of your skin care routine. Whether combined and layered or alternated, spend the time to learn how to properly and effectively use them - you won't regret it! What sets our serums apart from the rest? A good quality serum such as ours aims to provide intensive care to treat a problem or fragile area by penetrating deep into all three layers of skin. This is the most effective way of strengthening the cells and delivering critical, active ingredients to the skin. Whether you are using serums targeted for anti-aging or acne-prone skin, breakouts and blemishes, it's important that you are applying them correctly. So what is the correct method? Most serums should not be combined, due to the elevated risk of running into two ingredients having an adverse reaction with one another. But since our products are all-natural and organic, our serums are completely safe to combine. If you are looking to target two very different skin care concerns such as acne and hyperpigmentation, you would benefit significantly from using two separate serums consecutively. In this situation, you would want to apply the first serum and allow it 5-10 minutes to dry completely before applying the second serum. Again, allow the second serum 5-10 minutes to dry prior to applying additional skin care products such as eye care products and any moisturizers. Just how many serums can effectively be combined? For optimal results, we would suggest layering no more than two. What if you have more than two skin care concerns you wish to address? What is the recommended protocol then? In this case, we would suggest alternating your serums day-by-day. If you have four different serums you wish to incorporate, we would pick two to layer per day, alternating days. That way you are not adding all four to your skin during one period and running into the potential for congestion and clogged pores (which can lead to nasty blemishes and breakouts)! How many serums do you use? Which are your favorite? Comment below and let us know what you think! You can view all of our serums available for purchase here.
