Should You Buy Eminence Organics from Amazon?
If you're a fan of Eminence Organics skin care products, you may be tempted to buy them on Amazon. We get it, it's convenient and sometimes the prices seem too good to be true. However, there's a serious problem with counterfeit products on Amazon, and it's all because of something called "commingled inventory."
But before I explain what commingling inventory is and why it actually encourages counterfeits, I want to share something unique about Eminence Organics as a brand.
Much like Apple, Eminence takes great measures to protect their brand. As one of the most widely used organic skin care lines in the world, they have a lot to protect.
“here are three important things to consider when buying Eminence products”
It would take an entire article to describe all of the protections they have in place. Here are the three important ones to consider when buying Eminence products.
- There are only a small number of Eminence Organics authorized resellers. This is by design; the small number means they can more effectively work with and monitor their reseller network.
- Eminence has strict policies on sales and discounts. All natural and organic skin care costs a lot to make and only so much can be produced each season. Without strict policies, a large retailer could completely disrupt their distribution for an entire year. Each product is hand batched in small quantities and prepared with the ultimate care.
- Organic skincare requires freshness so quantities are limited. Even authorized resellers can only purchase limited amounts of inventory. This helps ensure fresh products are sold and protects the supply chain. It also means that companies like Walmart and Amazon do not get a volume discount.
Is Amazon Encouraging Fraud?
Now that you know a little bit about how Eminence protects their brand, let’s talk about why Amazon should be the last place you buy organic skincare from.
The problem is that Amazon commingles inventory. All products with the same SKU are treated as identical and placed in the same bin in the warehouse, regardless of the seller. Every product is assumed to be genuine; nothing is checked.
Basically if you buy Eminence Organics products on Amazon, you could end up with a counterfeit product even if you purchased it from a reputable seller with good reviews.
Worse yet, the counterfeit reseller has the same odds of selling you the real thing as the reputable sellers!
So if you see a great Eminence deal on Amazon, does that mean it’s fake? No, but it does mean that something is amiss.
Perhaps the seller is not authorized to buy directly from Eminence yet somehow acquired real products? Or they’re an authorized reseller, they’re just breaking Eminence’s policies?
These are the two best-case scenarios. It only gets worse from here.
If you care enough about your skin to buy all organic in the first place, you owe it to yourself to make sure you’re getting the real deal.
Fun fact – EMstore was one of the first online authorized retailers and preferred partner of Eminence Organics. We have a long history with Eminence Organics and we treat their policies with respect. While we can’t offer you discounts like you’ll see on Amazon, we try to find other ways to make shopping with us rewarding.
Free shipping, samples in every order and other rewards are great, but the biggest perk of all is the piece of mind that you’re buying real products, freshly prepared and straight from the source.
