Every year, over one million acres of trees worldwide are lost due to deforestation, a problem accounting for nearly 25% of C02 gas emissions, the main culprit in global warming. Eminence Organic Skin Care has started their foundation Forests For the Future, a collaboration together with Trees for the Future, where one tree will be planted for every product sold.
“We wanted to partner up with a company that we knew can make an impact on the world from a global standpoint,” said President and Founder of Eminence Organic Skin Care, Boldijarre Koronczay. “We are an organic company, so naturally planting trees fits in with our philosophy, but more importantly, reforestation helps to combat the major crisis of global warming.”
Reforestation is vital to the sustainability of the earth. Planting one tree alone can produce approximately 260 pounds of oxygen in one year. Deforestation is more destructive than many people realize. Findings show that the death of just one 70-year old tree would return over three tons of carbon to the atmosphere. In addition, trees help to lower air temperature by evaporating water in their leaves.
Eminence has been helping to rebuild and restore the environment since 2010. After a natural disaster caused major devastation to Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.C, the Eminence team worked to replant trees, nourish the soil, and bring the park back to fruition. Today, they have brought their same dedication to this cause which will affect the world on a grander scale.
Trees for the Future focuses their efforts on reforestation and implementing sustainable agroforestry throughout various communities around the world. This upcoming year, they have projected to plant over 17.7 million trees in 2,465 communities in 21 countries. Proudly, an estimated 500,000 trees are expected to be planted from Eminence Organic’s involvement alone.
We look forward to harvesting a healthy environment one product at a time – Boldijarre Koronczay
