What Is Skin Positivity And Why Is It So Important?
There is a lot of pressure to look perfect in today's society. But, that's right, we'll say it perfect skin does not exist. There are so many ways you can change the way you look at your skin. Wrinkles are inevitable, acne happens (all forms), and any other skin condition is not always in our control. The best thing we can do for ourselves is change how we see our skin rather than control it. Yes, we know it is easier said than done, which is why I have some tips to share on how you can change the way you view your skin.
Imperfections are normal and beautiful.
Having clear skin doesn't define you, although it can feel like it does. Skin positivity is for anyone. Our attitude towards others with skin conditions needs to change. We use foundation makeup to conceal blemishes and imperfections, moisturizers and fillers to hide dry flakey skin, concealers, and color correctors to disguise broken capillaries and uneven skin texture. While there is nothing wrong with those things, you should also feel beautiful without them. Trying to achieve "perfect" skin is not ideal for your self-esteem. It's like trying to achieve the "perfect" body, and it sets an unfairly high standard.
List 3 things you like about the way you look (Eyes, hair, etc..) and write them down somewhere you can access them easily. (A sticky note on your mirror, a phone reminder, etc..)

Blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and even cysts or nodules are typical forms of acne, and the condition can affect the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and even the upper arms. You may not be obsessing over acne as much as you were in your teens, but I can bet that it's your fault. There's no magic formula for perfect skin. Genetics are to blame – it's in our DNA. We know it's more complicated than just washing your face and drinking more water. You know what's best for your skin, and you're most likely already doing all the right things. Acne may not be something you're expecting once you are out of your teens, but you still think it's your fault.

Step 1: Cleanse in the morning and before bed
An essential step of any skincare routine is cleansing your skin. Be sure to use a cleanser or wash with salicylic acid.
We recommend:
Step 2: Use a toner
We suggest you follow with an exfoliating toner that contains either:
- salicylic acid
- glycolic acid
- lactic acid
We recommend:
Step 3: Treat your skin
If you're prone to acne, you should be using benzoyl peroxide in the daytime to help prevent breakouts and curb oil production. If your skin produces more oils, consider yourself lucky. Your skin will combat fine lines and wrinkles.
We recommend:
Step 4: Moisturize in the morning and evening
Moisturizing is an essential step if you have oily skin. You may feel like you shouldn't be moisturizing your skin if it produces more oils. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. People with all skin types need to moisturize their skin. If your skin tends to be on the oily side of the spectrum, you should be more careful with what kind of moisturizer you're using. We recommend a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer.

Reminder: The current state of your skin does not measure your worth or your beauty.
